A sweet antique Victorian crescent moon brooch modelled in 18ct gold and adorned with a row of blue and green turquoise cabochons which graduate in size toward the centre.
Celestial jewellery became increasingly sought after during the 19th Century as people began to look up at the stars and heavens once more with renewed fascination. The crescent moon was a symbol of the Greek God Selene, the feminine moon Goddess and represented change and female empowerment in the Victorian Era.
The brooch has remained in excellent condition and would look beautiful on a lapel.
